SUMMARY:Closing the Gap: Building Union-Investor Dialogue to Inform Labour Rights Stewardship
DESCRIPTION:Register Now \nThe growth of the ESG industry has generated an ecosystem of disclosure frameworks and a plethora of products that consolidate and disseminate ESG data. There are questions regarding the extent to which the proliferation of ESG data has equipped investors to identify and mitigate labour rights risks effectively. \nThis session will explore the potential and limits of ESG data on workforce issues\, drawing on trade union and investor perspectives. It will discuss how dialogue with trade unions supplements conventional data sources and assists investor stewardship practices. It will touch on research products that unions provide to investors. Finally\, it will explain how the Labour Rights Investor Network (LRIN)\, an investor network hosted by the CWC\, is facilitating information flow on labour risks in sectors and countries where visibility to investors may be limited. \nSpeakers: \n\nJohn Adler\, Chief ESG Officer\, Office of the New York City Comptroller\, USA\nRachel Hargreaves\, Investor Engagement Advisor\, UNI Global Union\, Switzerland\nCasey Thompson\, Worker’s Capital Manager\, Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU)\, Australia\n\nModerator: \n\nAaron Brenner\, Senior Capital Markets Analyst\, the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union (UFCW)
