Driving Union Priorities in the Policy Sphere

The Strategic Policy Taskforce (SPT) engages on trade union priorities related to sustainability disclosures, human rights due diligence, and other key issues in the sustainable finance movement. It works across two core areas: 1) influencing global standards and consultations by ensuring coordinated input and 2) supporting trade union participation on key bodies.

The Taskforce brings together affiliates of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), Global Union Federations (GUFs), and labour-nominated pension trustees to coordinate a unified workers’ capital perspective on major policy issues.

Influencing key standards and supporting union participants

The key bodies where CWC participants are actively advocating include:

The International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB)

Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards

Taskforce on Inequality and Social-Related Financial Disclosures (TISFD)

PRI governance bodies and technical advisory committees (e.g. PRI Advance)

European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS)
