If your trade union has a campaign that the CWC may be able to able to, get in touch with us by clicking the button below.
In recent years, US-headquartered Amazon.com has faced increasing scrutiny and criticism for its labour rights practices. The company’s global employment footprint has triggered efforts by trade unions in countries like the USA, the UK, France, Spain and Germany to step up to defend fundamental labour rights, like freedom of association.
The CWC has worked to develop a globally coherent strategy to raise awareness amongst investors and drive action to improve Amazon.com’s labour rights practices.
Recent campaigns that have been supported by the CWC include efforts to uphold labour rights at Teleperformance (France), Starbucks (USA), Holcim (Switzerland), DIAM Group (France), XPO Logistics (USA) and more.
Campaigns tend to be grounded in requests to uphold international norms and frameworks, like the ILO Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, the UN Guiding Principles for Business and Human Rights and the OECD Guidelines for MNEs.
